3D Boolean Rhythmomachy

No, really.

I've recently mentioned Zillions of Games, the generic board game engine, as being a particularly cool toy. Now I've had that confirmed. While trawling around in the downloads section, I came across 3D Boolean Rhythmomachy, a very modern update of a very classic game.

The high concept is like classical Rhythmomachy (a very period game that I teach from time to time): you and your opponent each have a collection of numbered pieces, and you attack by using mathematical combinations of those pieces. In this updated version, though, the math is all Boolean logic -- you attack with operations like NAND, NOT, XOR and the like. You each have 16 men representing the 16 four-boolean-digit numbers, arranged on a 4x4x4 grid.

Mind, this is not a game of deep subtlety like *Star -- it's more a matter of brute-force tracking of what's possible. But it's still a very neat game, very complex yet very regular. Recommended for the board game geeks out there (at least, the ones with enough computer background to be comfortable with boolean logic hacking)...
