Finally. At long last, the day that seemed like it would never come. For the first time in 20 months, we're on vacation. And for the first time in nearly ten years, we're taking a full two weeks.
(Okay, yes, we went to Pennsic for a week 15 months ago. Anyone who can call Pennsic a vacation with a straight face isn't doing enough.)
For those looking for us: we're down at my Dad's house in NJ this weekend -- msmemory is retaining for Her Nibs at 100 Minutes War today, while I do my best to bring down my blood pressure. We'll be back in town briefly on Sunday evening, to go to rufinia's test feast, then we're off to CA for a week. We'll be back a week from Monday, then taking a semi-quiet week of doing a bit of SCA stuff but no work, through the end of Thanksgiving weekend.
Being proper geeks (and total addicts), we're bringing my work laptop with us, and have chosen a hotel that claims to have high-speed internet. So we probably won't be completely out of touch, although we're likely to be checking LJ and email only once a day instead of the more usual every few minutes.
Now comes the real challenge: to relax. Been so long, I'm not even sure I remember what it feels like...
