Okay, it's silly-looking, but I want one...

Check out the Tango, from Commuter Cars. They seem to be taking the idea of a commuter-centric car seriously, creating a vehicle only a smidgeon larger than a motorcycle. Good performance, good mileage, great for parking and traffic, specifically designed to be reasonably road-safe. It only holds two people, or one person and luggage, but that's plenty for most days. Looks like a very well-thought-out compromise in all respects.

Realistically, one of these for each of us, plus a small SUV or minivan for the occasions when we need to transport serious Stuff (or people), would probably be ideal in every respect. I don't have a thousand dollars handy to put in a deposit, but I have to say that it's tempting -- I do hope this company succeeds...

Y'gotta love "state of the art technology"

The MA Telefile tax system (which brags at the end about being state of the art) got msmemory all the way through the form -- all 129 agonizingly-slow button presses of it (I was bored, so I counted) -- got to the point of telling us how much tax we owed, and went into an infinite loop. Option 1 was "listen to these totals again". Option 2 was not recognized. After finally letting it go through option 1, it got bored and hung up on us.

Needless to say, I got assigned to phone duty the second time...
