The procedure itself was pretty easy, although I still find the time loss from general anaesthetic to be disconcerting. The novacaine is beginning to wear off, so I'm starting to get the initial edges of the pain, but can't do anything about it quite yet: I can't seem to swallow pills until I can move my mouth. I've been feeling decidedly like a muppet for the past hour, with a completely solid one-piece jaw made of plastic. I'm getting some sensation back in my tongue, but the lip and jaw area around it are still basically immobilized. Drinking is fun: I have to take on faith that it's my lip that the glass is resting on.
Liquid diet for a couple of days, then mushy foods for a couple more thereafter. Mild nuisance, but it'll be nice to stop worrying about the twinges that those teeth were starting to cause...
