SCA Membership Survey

I'm far from the first to say it, but: if you are involved with the SCA, whether you're an Official Member (tm) or not, please fill out this survey. The Board is finally getting around to gathering some information about how people feel about the membership issues, and I'd like to see them get a statistically significant sample for once.

Personally, I am very strongly in favor of switching away from the current system to a more participation-oriented model of membership, and de-emphasizing the concept of "membership" in general. My observation is that the current model -- which imposes pointless membership requirements on many things -- is badly broken, and simply drives people away from participation in the Society, to no benefit. While I'm annoyed at how strongly the Board feels that it has to stress that it's not taking these ideas seriously, I'm like to believe that they might pay at least a little more attention if they get a strong message for change here. But history suggests that it's going to take at least a thousand responses before they will listen at all, and that's a lot.

So spread the word...
