A mostly good weekend

+ Spent yesterday over at Camelot. Helped rosinavs move into the new place there. (I played "the guy in the truck", pulling everything out and handing it off to folks to bring over to the house.) Fairly quick and uncontroversial quarterly household meeting. Hung out for a few hours; got the explanation of "Camelotting" and "Cohousing" as verbs from several folks. Nearly run over repeatedly by roving street gangs of ten-year-olds on razor scooters, who were visiting a birthday party at Camelot. Shared in the potluck dinner. (Note to self: next time, bring dessert and/or salad -- we had way too much pasta.) Played an hour or two of rough-and-ready poker, and got to teach msmemory the rudiments of the game. In general, a fabulous day getting to hang with lots of people I like.

- At the very end of that, came down with Crud. No idea what it is, but around 9:30 I said to myself, "Huh -- I'm feeling kind of tired and cruddy", and begged out of the game earlier than I would normally do. By the time we got home, I was definitely Sick, albeit vaguely so: very low-grade fever, exhausted, head slightly clogged and throat a bit scratchy. That's continued through today: not precisely Martian Death Flu, but lots of mild symptoms combined with exhaustion. The total excitement for the day was a quick trip to Penseys with msmemory; that was about all I had energy for.

Overall, an acceptable trade. If I have to get sick, this is probably as good a time as any -- I was planning on largely taking the week off anyway, to get my head together before starting the new job. My only real regret is that I was too comatose to give a ride to Archery to our visitor from Ma'ale Giborim as I'd planned: she was looking forward to it, but I didn't get any volunteers who were attending from in-town (it's a fairly serious drive from Cambridge out to archery practice), and I couldn't even climb out of bed until it was half-over...
