Another day, another neat tool

SunCalc is a cute utility that does exactly one thing: for a given position and date, it shows you the direction of the sun at sunrise, sunset, right now, and any other time you choose.

Not exactly an every-day webpage, but our camp planner used it yesterday to show folks where sunrise and sunset were relative to our Pennsic encampment...

Apps like this are increadably useful to photographers and film makers too. Knowing where the sun & moon before you go on site makes for better planning and no surprises that the sun is just over the roof of the building you wanted in the background...

I use something similar every day. For cell phones there are versions that use augmented reality to do that, so you can hold up you phone, get a picture of the sun rising over the local trees.

I have multiple websites in my bookmarks that accomplish this and other, similar functions. I'm keeping this one for its simplicity.
